In 2011 TV mogul Oprah Winfrey has been selected for the 2011 Jean Hersholt Humanitarian (Humanitarian OSCAR) Award given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Governors Awards. The honour, an Oscar statuette, is bestowed on an individual in the movie industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to show business. James Earl Jones and the make-up artist Disk Smith will also be handed Honorary Awards at the third annual Hollywood gala to be held in November 2011.
