SENSITIVE SKIN FOR ROBOTS | Robots with sensitive skin

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) Scientist, Germany are developing a synthetic (sensitive) skin for robots with a similar to as that of  human skin.  The synthetic skin will provide important tactile information to the robot and thus supplement its perception formed by camara eyes, infrared scanners and gripping hands.  As with human skin, the way artificial skin is touched could, for example, lead to a spontaneous retreat (when  the robot hits an object) or cause the machine to use its eyes for the first time to search for the source of contact.  Such behaviour is expecially important for robotic helpers of people travelling in constantly changing environments.

The centrepiece of the new robotic shell is  a five square cm hexagonal plate or circuit board.  Each small circuit board ccontains four infrared sensors that detect anything closer than one cm. "This sensor can register pressure ranging form a firm pinch between your thumb and forefinger to twice the pressure exerted by an elephant standing on one foot.

TYRES FOR FORMULA 1 | F1 CAR Tires

F1car tyres are differ from ordinary car tyres.  An ordinary car tyre typically has a life of 25,000 km or more.  But the Formula One tyre is designed to last for, at most, 200 km.  Like everything else on the car, the tyre is constructed to be as light and strong as possible.  That means an underlying nylon and polyester structure in a complicated weave pattern designed to withstand far larger forces than road car tyres.  In Formula One racing that means anything up to a tonne of down force, 4g lateral loading's and 5g longitudinal loading.

The racing tyre is constructed from very soft rubber compounds  which offer the best possible grip against the texture of the racetrack, but obviously wear out very quickly in the process.  If you look at a typical track you will see that, just off the racing line, a large amount of rubber debris gathers.  All racing tyres work best at relatively high temperatures.  These tyres are give fastness for cars in Race.

FUEL FOR FORMULA 1 CAR RACE | F1 RACE FUEL

The Fuel for all team are Spenser by his technical partners.  The talk around the fuel in a Formula One car has veered from secret fuel to rocket fuel.  It would then surprise you that the fuel an F1 car runs on today is surprisingly close to the composition of ordinary available petrol.  It was not always so.  Early Grand Prix cars ran on fierce mixture of powerful chemicals and additives, often featuring large quantities of benzene, alcohol and aviation fuel, indeed some early fuels were so potent that the car's engine had to be disassemble and washed in ordinary petrol at the end the race to prevent the mixture from corroding it.  Over the years, regulations and oil companies desire to link racing with road cars has changed the composition of the fuel used.
The modern fuel is only allowed tiny quantities of  'non hydrocarbon' compounds, effectively banning the most volatile power-boosting additives.  Each fuel blend must be submitted to the sport's governing body, the FIA, for prior approval of its composition and physical properties.  A 'fingerprint' of the approved fuel is the taken, which is then compared to the actual fuel being used at the event by the FIA'S mobile testing laboratory.
During a typical season a Formula One team uses over 2,00,000 liters for testing and racing, and these can be of anything up to 50 slightly different blends, tuned for the demands of different circuits -   or even different weather conditions.  More potent fuels will give noticeable more power but may result in increased consumption or engine wear.
The engine oil in an F1 car is just as important as it is in your car.  It helps to perform a vital diagnostic role, and is closely analysed after each race and tested for traces of metals to help monitor the engine's wear rate.  This is a fuel for F1 RACE.

Racing at a time when safety was not uppermost on the drivers' mind and with almost no protective equipment, Fangio possessed some of the greatest innate driving abilities that his or any other age had seen.  He likened racing to painting and believed it was both a fine art and a science.  Much like today's mercenary F1 drivers, Fangio had a knack for soptting the best cars and won his world titles with four different teams.  In 1958 he abruptly retired, saying, "it's finished".  He passed away on july 17, 1995 at the age of 84.

MOON YOUNGER BY 200M YRS | Moon Is Younger Than our Thought

The latest issue about Nature says, the moon is billion years old, up to million years younger than thought.  The estimate comes from a new dating of isotopes of lead and neodymium found in samples of ferroan anorthosite,  a crustal rock that derives from magma.  Moons age is more than 200 Million Years.  A common theory for the origin of the moon is that it was created by an impact between a large planet-sized object and the nascent earth. The molten material, or magma, that was ejected from this giant collision progressively cooled, hardening into earth's rocky, barren and airless satellite.  This extraordinarily young age of this lunar sample means that the moon solidified significantly later than previous estimates.

These babies, part of the study at chelsea and westminster Hospital, west London, were found to have a similar build-up of abdominal fat that adults in their 50s have.  The study used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to investigate links between obesity in children and their mothers.  It reportedly found evidence that being overweight or obese in pregnancy could result in potentially harmful changes in a baby's fat levels in the womb, the telegraph reports.
The study, led by Neena Modi, professor of neonatal medicine at Imperial College London, found nearly a third of children had more fat than expected.
Of the 105 babies, 54 boys and 51girls a total of 31 babies had more adipose, or fat, tissue around their abdomen than normal.  Experts said the study was the first direct link that proved the weight of a month-er-to-be was passed on to her child and showed that over weight mothers gave birth to fat babies.
"I was very surprised to the able to detect such a clear continuum of effect of maternal BMI (body mass index) on the baby," said Modi adding, "This is very important finding indeed opening the door to a new understanding of how a mother's metabolism affects her baby."  So the obese mothers affects her kids.

Keep Food Fresh For Years | A bisin could Keep Food Fresh For Years

The Minnesota University Researchers, discovered a natural preservatives that should spell the end of the rotting food.  They discovered the substance, called bisin, which destroys the bacteria that make meat, fish, eggs, vegetables and other dairy products decompose.  The preservative could extend the food's life for several years and even work for opened bottles of wine and salad dressing.  According to the researchers, bisin occurs naturally in some types of harmless bacteria.  It prevents the growth of lethal bacteria including E-coil, salmonella and listeria.  The substance could extend the life of a variety of everyday foods (regular foods) which have strict use-by dates including seafood, cheese and canned goods.

A TINY CHIP (plastic) Tests Blood, Detects HIV in 15min | The Tiny Chip Used to Detects HIV

The new Technology. The Scientists of Columbia University in New York,  have developed a portable blood test device, Called mChip (plastic chip), which costs only $1 and looks like a debit card.  The mChip has returned a 95% accuracy for HIV and 76% for detecting syphilis.

The mChip uses optics to read fluids by taking a single pin-prick of blood.  It contains 10 detection zones which the blood passes through and then returns a positive or negative result in about 15 minutes.  The result is presented in a simple color-coded manner like pregnancy test, making it easy to use and understand. It has already been authorized for use in Europe.

MICRO ROBOT that can walk on water | LATEST TECHNOLOGY ROBOT

Robot walking on water.  An international Team (group) of scientists claim to have developed an Micro robot which can walk on water.  This type of  robot mimics the amazing water-walking abilities of water strider the long-legged insect that scoots across the surface of ponds, lakes, rivers and other waterways.
The micro-robot incorporates improvements of previous devices of this kind that position it as a prime candidate for military spy missions, water pollution monitoring, and other applications.  The robot can walk on water because of its highly water repellent legs, says the team.  The scientists describe progress on a new robot, with a body about the size of quarter; 10 water-repellent, wire legs; and two movable, oar-like legs - propelled by two miniature motors. It is one of the useful innovation in this field.
